NORTHERN NSW SOJOURN
25 Aug 2004
After a somewhat frenetic couple of months touring to promote the latest release 'Seven Seven' as well as finishing off production and mixing work on albums by Sophie Koh, C.W. Stoneking, Luluc, The Boat People and Phill McKenna, J. Walker and Machine Translations have moved their base of operations to the beautiful Northern Rivers area of NSW for three months. The main project in the pipeline during this time is the score and soundtrack for the second season of the ABC's 'East Of Everything'. The soundtrack album from the first season has been bolting out the door at ABC shops (8,000 copies and counting) so everyone has high expectations for the new season. The MT band is taking a bit of a break during this time but will reconvene towards the end of the year when a run of east coast shows is planned for December. Work has also begun on a new album which at this stage seems like it may be a bit of a departure from Seven Seven's acoustic leanings. Watch this space for more news in the coming months and please check out the above-mentioned artists if you get a chance - some of them are touring at the moment and all of them are fantastically talented folk who deserve a little of your attention if you have it to spare. Best regards as always, MT.
